The outside garden area was kept clean and tidy the plants were well cared for. The cooking area kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. We saw lots of animals roaming around and there was very nice restraunts within 10 min drive. Owners and John were very helpful and booked excursions for us. It was a lovely place to stay.

We were excited to see giraffes, kudu, warthog, zebras, impala, wildebeest, monkeys and other animals all around the village. They roam freely, so meeting them everywhere is a part of staying in Doringpoort lodge 🙂 The house itself has 3 bedrooms, a huge dining/living room, 3 bathrooms with 2 showers, a fully equipped kitchen with all the dishes and utensils, a BBQ area and and outdoor dining hall - all with fantastic wooden handmade designer furniture and some antique items. The beds are comfortable, there's always electricity available as they have a generator on the property, European sockets, Wifi and hot water. There were no mosquitoes in our rooms. The pool is 3 by 2 metres, very nice to realx after a day of safari. Kruger Park is right across the river from Marloth Park, and Crocodile River Bridge Gate into the park is 20 min drive. We walked 100m to the river and saw the animals of Kruger park there - Hippos, elephants, buffalo and a multitude of birds... In the evening, while we were making a BBQ, Bush babies came to visit - we fed them bananas 🙂 We also visited a wildlife park right in the middle of the village -...
