We loved the responsive and personal attention from our hosts, and the lovely outside area with own braai (bbq), fire pit and a thatch lapa with a uniquely beautiful table.... read more It was enchanting to sit outside in the evenings and watch the bush babies eat the fruits of the nearby palm tree. The place is well appointed and comfortable, and the rooms lovely- although the loft room's conversion from an open patio is a little obvious and a bit open for my liking - although my young son loved having his own space up there with a mini bathroom and a daybed for reading and relaxing. As always, Marloth Park with its unspoiled bush setting was a joy and a balm for the soul, and the fact that the river is only a few minutes walk away is a real bonus. We enjoyed sunset strolls along the bank listening to the fish eagles' calls.
The roads are a little rough if you have a very low car, but we will stay at Doringpoort again when we have the chance to visit Marloth Park.

Disliked · load shedding was a problem but this is South Africa wide nothing to do with the accommodation. it stopped the fans from working so it was very hot inside the tent. No wii fii connection at the tent bush camp.which was very inconvenient. We had to go up to the lodge are to be able to access the wii fi More
